keep in mind you can do a factory reset by holding down the button for 40 whole seconds, then waiting four minutes.

I wish the manual had been clear on that. Anyway mine works now.

Also, if you are thinking about purchasing a MyCloudEx, I recommend you look elsewhere. This thing has been very difficult for me. On top of which its really damn slow.
