Bought something for $20 USA on eBay
I'm Canadian EH

So on the check do I just put $20 USA Dollars or what?

I'm assuming $20 on a canadian check means, by default Canadian money wise.

Normally yes, but it is very possible that the teller at the bank that works on the check doesn't notice it is a Canadian funds check. They will deposit it for $20 american and problems ensue.

The best scenario is to get an american funds money order or cashier's check.

I send an American check to Canada every month (been doing so for years). The difference is that I send it to a branch manager and she takes care of it personally. That way there are rarely mix ups.

"wnat" ? Love when people with 28731 posts (unemployed?) scrutinize others on spelling and can't even do so themselves. Please do grow up.

I work for a US bank which routinely deals with RBC, TD, BOFM, etc.

I would recommend going to your bank's branch, request a USD money order, draft or cashier's check and send that.

Not all US banks will accept CAD monetary instruments, send USD only.

Uh huh. Well, I'm quite aware that wnat is not a real word. It was a quick mistake. However, I submit that you're quite unware of the difference between your and you're. So in regards to grammar you're the one fresh out of the womb!

In actual fact how many tmies have you seen somebody with 28731 posts scrutinize somebody on spelling and get it wrong? I can't imagine you've seen it before! I make more money than you if we're going to resort to childish name calling :)

I'd have to show you a bank statement, because my company's payroll department doesn't have enough whitespace for the highrollers in the company to fit their weekly pay check amount into the standard box. As a result we don't get pay stubs and our W2s typically have to be custom made to fit all the zeros in.
