If your having trouble playing DVD-r

Try a different authoring program. My Apex 1100w wouldn't play them, it would freeze, was using MYDVD to author. Downloaded Ulead DVD Movie Factory free trial, burnt a disk and it played fine.

I use NERo to burn all of my VOB files, plus my Phillips settop plays everyting under the sun!
