It's equally dumb to put something like "price is negotiable" in the ad. When I negotiate with a private seller for something I almost always start by asking for around 10% off anyway. (Only exception is if the price is already very low, in which case I just pay it out of fairness and because I don't want to offend the seller or risk someone else outbidding me.)

If they make it obvious in the ad that the price is flexible, I'll start with at least 20% off.

A better question would be - why go through the trouble of blotting out one license plate but not the two other pictures?

I've owned a few Mustangs and still like them, but they have some of the stupidest owners (with some exceptions, of course). I frequent a Miata board, and most of those owners are a decent bunch - smart, well-rounded car enthusiasts. On the Mustang board I frequent, it's like the audience from the Jerry Springer show. There are of course exceptions, but still, it's the majority.

I would not drive a mustang, camaro, or even corvette due to the dumbarse owners. I don't care to be affiliated with that group.

So, what intelligent-owner-only vehicle(s) do you drive then?
