I want a gaming computer built with a 700$ budget. I have a monitor and a mouse and keyboard, so I dont need that included. I prefer the GTX cards for graphics cards. Otherwise, I don't really have any preferences.

2500k bundle deal from micro center
60-120gb ssd
16gb ram
Video card is a tough choice and probably the most important for this build. I like the new radeon 7850 but you have plenty of options (plus Kepler is coming out in a week)
Get a good psu matched to your video card. 700w will probably be fine but get a good one.
I like the hyper 212+ as a heatsink.
The antec 300 is a nice case.

That should all cost less than 700 no problem.

1. PC will be used for Gaming. A lot of it.

2. Budget price should come in somewhere around 700$

3. I live in the USA

4. I like nVidia

5. I dont have any current parts.

8. Best resolution possible

9. as soon as possible, i've heard about the new nVidia card coming out but I doubt I'll be able to afford it.

Do you live near a microcenter?

i5 2500k build without microcenter would probably go over budget.

i5 2500k $220
motherboard $110
ssd+ hard drive or just hard drive $100 to $150
video card $200
case $50
power supply $60
dvd burner $17

=$757 and you still may need windows 7. Of course these prices are very rough and you might be able to knock off $100 or so with rebates and discounts if you shop around or go for a lower i5. Also when they ask for the resolution they are asking what resolution is your monitor.

Wait a sec while I consult my crystal ball... Ah it's not working. Could you just tell me what your monitor is?

Oh, 1366x768? Good thing I asked. You won't need a spectacular setup to run games at high settings. I would make the monitor the next thing to upgrade though.

i5-2500K $225
ASrock Z68 Pro3 Gen3 $105
8GB G.Skill 1600Mhz $45
MSI GTX560 $165 AR (Personally I'd go with Radeon 6850 $120 AR AP, same speed but a hell of a lot cheaper)
Seagate 1TB 7200RPM $98
LG DVD burner $16
Corsair CX600 $40 AR AP
Cooler Master HAF 912 $50 AR or Antec Gaming Series One $55

= $744 AR AP, or $699 AR AP with the Radeon 6850.

If that's too much then you should consider forgetting about 2500K and overclocking and settle for Intel H67 board $90 and Intel i3-2120 $113 AP. That would save you $127, actually enough to afford an SSD, Crucial M4 64GB $94 or Samsung 830 64GB $100. Or, save that for the new monitor.

Rofl.

Well, in that case I would get the i3 and H67 board. And I'd definitely wait for 7850 2GB to be released, and I would sacrifice any NVIDIA bias for it. If u still must get NVIDIA, buy 560 Ti 1GB ($200), it is just fast enough for high settings on 1080p in demanding titles, but 7850 2GB is faster, consumes less power, is more overclockable and has more VRAM.
