xbox? gamecube? ps2? i was wondering if i could get the people who use pc's mostly to chime in about this as i think i'm about to purchase one. all things considered too, titles, graphix..you name it...

I'd go with PS2 or the GC <-- very nice releases coming soon - mario kart, f-zero, etc.

I like the controller much better than all the alternatives, it works as a DVD player (sorry gamecube) & can still use all my PS1 games.

I hadn't owned a console in a couple of years, and I finally went out and bought a GameCube last week.

I'm very happy with it, I've grown up with Nintendo so I like all of their franchise games/characters, and the console and the games I picked up were pretty cheap. I've been playing a lot of Zelda, it's an excellent game. There are a number of other great titles and several more I'm looking forward too, as well.
Love the Wavebird wireless controller, too.

Honestly, I think each console has its advantages, though. I don't think there is one that is the "only choice".

oh right, definitely wait for E3 and see if they drop the price. think GC might go to $120 though.

I have a PS2, and I'd probably buy a gamecube. The titles make the console, I think. (plus I'm big into RPGs, and the final fantasies are on PS1/2, then there's metroid prime... mmmmm)

It's all about the games. Look and see which console has the exclusive games that YOU like.
If those seem to be equal, then I can't recommend the Xbox any higher. In game 5.1 dolby digital is awesome!

But like I said... Look at the games. Personally, the GC does nothing for me (outside of Resident Evil). I'm not a Zelda nor a Mario fan.
