To get rich I wouldn't have wasted my money on such depreciating assets like cars

Old-school Lamborghini Countach LP500S or as TridenT pointed out, Mclaren F1.

Depends on what kind of impression I wanted to give and what kind of date I think she would be.

If she were rich like I theoretically would be, then nothing would impress her but still an appropriately nice car would be the best choice.

If she were not rich and I just wanted to get laid, then any exotic sporty car would suffice.

If she were not rich and I didn't want her to know, then see below.

i've got a wealthy friend that picked up a date in a beat up old vw bug. he met her at some swank hotel and felt she was might have been a gold digger. the test worked as the girl refused to get in his car :D

Test methodology fail. Girl may just have been creeped out.

Better methodology is to have a used but not too ancient "normal" car like a Camry or Civic. Or, a used but not ancient budget sporty car like a Mustang.

If it weren't for the grill, at first glance I would have said it was an Aston.

Believe it or not this always got the job done in spades:

That's because she will think the driver is possibly gay, thus very likely "sensitive" and not a jerk. :)

I'd drive a Delorean, not sure if I'd get one that was made to look like it was from back to the future though.

Either a modded CRX/gen 5 civic, or if going stock a lotus exige.

The first two because I love the CRX and have a soft spot for my (stock) civic. The last one because the exige is awesome. I'd love to drive one.

I guess which car depends on what impression I want to give. I'd probably take the exige if I wanted to show off, and take the civic if I wanted to appear modest.

OK, serious post...
While I was single after my divorce, I drove my oldest vehicle to every first date ('97 Olds Bravada).
I certainly didn't want to try to impress anyone with what I drove or how flashy I could be.
I dressed nicely, but nothing flashy, drove a decent vehicle but not my best, and did not try to be anything more than I was.

Out of around 20-25 dates, only one date did not lead to more.(I'm sure she was looking for the Fine car & Flash though!)

no he failed cause if he even suspected she was a gold digger, he should have just gotten him some then left never to speak to her again.
Finding "the one" is a bit overated imo. If i was rich i'd just never get married anyway and assume their all gold diggers, cause really most all of them would like a rich guy regardless.

I don't think most women are cognizant of this kind of thing, and showing up in some over-the-top supercar seems douchy. In an ideal world, I don't know that you could do better than an Aston DB5.

VW GTI coupe. Not too shabby but not showing off my money. I would want her to think I was a normal dude and go from there.

I was thinking about buying it at one point but, being in the Northeast, kind of a waste.

Likely something unusual, and definitely pre 1970, but customized and modernized. 1957 jaguar mk1 turned into a bio-diesel or something similar.

Pikers, pfffffftttt!

The truly rich don't do the scut work of working the pedals and steering wheel, they employ chauffeurs.

Moreover, they don't pick up a date, they have their dates chauffeured to them.

Warren buffet is truly rich but drives himself around. Then again he probably wasn't born with a silver spoon up his ass and actually enjoys driving.

I think people are over doing the 'gold digger' aspect.

If she only wants you for your money it shouldn't take too long to figure it out.
Plus if you are rich you are probably dating a higher class of woman too. Lawyers, doctors etc.
