...what would you do? Tonight, there is a very big event that you'd like to be a part of. The event is a 1 hour drive away from home and work and probably wouldn't end until the wee hours of the morning. You knew you had work the next day from 11am to 12pm Midnight. You also have 11.5 vacation hours accumulated of which 11 of them could be used tomorrow and you can happily par-tay like it's 1999.
With the following points in mind...
Do you...
Suggestions? My head says no....but my liver says "BRING IT ON!!"
BTW, if you want to see who voted what, you gotta make a decision!!
BTW^2, you won't be getting off work until 9:30pm after a 13 hour day. With only 6 hours of sleep the previous night. (And the festivities started around 8ish. to end as late as 4am resonably.)
With the following points in mind...
- You earn vacation hours at a maximum rate of 1.5 hours per week.
- You cannot carry over 13 hours into the next year.
- The chance that you'll actually earn the maximum amount of vacation hours per year is not possible with your habits.
- Using your vacation time, you'll only be compensated for 11 hours when you could've potentially worked for 13.
- You could also use your vacation time on a half day (6.5 hours of work time) and use 7 vacation hours, thusly getting paid for an extra .5 hours you weren't scheduled for.
Do you...
- Be responsible, save your vacation time and miss out on a potentially awesome (yet unnecessary) party.
- Be less responsible, use your vacation time and get down with your bad self.
- Be irresponsible and tell your boss you're just not coming in (lose 13 hours of pay
) and feel bad about it up until the 2nd or 3rd beer.
