If you were heading to prison for life...

Which one would you bring?

Assume there is no internet connection and you only have 1 controller.

I think it would be GTA:San Andreas for me. You could spend a lifetime trying to complete all of the side missions and just checking out the city.

While not my favorite game I would probably bring Tetris. That should keep me busy for the rest of your life. I'll just keep trying to top my score.

Renting out time on the Dead or Alive beach volleyball game could buy me lots of smokes.

Didn't think of that but it could also backfire and you could end up wearing a garbage bag bikini in the yard.

If it is for life... you might as well give me a good MMORPG.... unless there is no internets or something.

FF7. How many KOTR materia could one man have? I'd die with so many golden chocobos....

(mmorpg would be great until they cancel it 🙂 )

Good plan picking a game that is not released yet, has no reviews or solid previews! You have not "ended the thread" as you so cleverly have typed. Fool.

Halo 3 for me right now, as long as I've got a net connection.
Rock Band if I dont... so I could rock out with my fellow inmates and earn their virtual respect.

Yeah, assume there is no internet connection. You would be playing the game alone in your 8'x8' from now until death.

Then it would be Guitar Hero 2, maybe GH3 but I still haven't tried it yet 🙁

That's hard. Originally, I thought of Morrowind, but TES games are only good on PCs. This also ruled out Diablo II or any MMOGs I was thinking of...

Console Games..

Perhaps a Final Fantasy, probably either VII or X. Something with lots of hours...

Maybe SSBM (or perhaps SSBB when it comes out)?

As much as I love platformers I would hesitate to pick one only because of their general lack of freedom. Granted I haven't played SMG but the others seem like they would get boring after the 100th time playing them. At least with GTA or one of the FF series you can change you approach to the game.

I think I'd say Oblivion. I played it on the PC and got bored but if I was in prison I think I'd play it a lot more. 😉

OT somewhat;
Reminds me of a documentary saw recently about console game controllers in prisons being parted out for the vibration feedback mechanisms. Turns out that they make pretty good mechanisms for driving tattoo needles.

That post ended much cleaner then I thought it would...

Final Fantasy Tactics. Damn it, now I want to fire up the old PSX and play it

That game could easily beat out FF7 I picked earlier. Takes something special to have more playtime on my PS2 than any PS2 game.

That was the first thing that came to mind when I saw the thread title.

Another vote for Tetris
