Question. If you were God, and had all power ...and created a man ...what kind of rules and guidelines might you make for him to keep him safe and out of trouble?

I dunno but I bet I could have come up with something better than "don't eat the apple"

What do you mean, IF ??? Which, of course causes me no end of self esteem problems. As an atheist, I just can't seem to believe in myself. :)

If I were God, I'd make sure that there is NO doubt that I am the only God, just to settle a lot of conflicts.

If I were a god I would state with forknowledge that this thread starts into a flame war around reply number 17, starts a good heated debated in the opposite direction around reply number 28, and then gets locked at post number 34. :D

I'd set it up so that he was just like me too, a mini God, with all of me inside him in a tiny piece, so that all he'd have to do for guidance is find that true spark of me within him for perfect guidance.

I think I'd eliminate anything stronger than marijuana, ship all serious criminals (ie: murderers, rapists, corrupt politicians.....) off planet to.....wherever, which would in turn, help out with the population problem just a tad. I think I'd improve living conditions around the world, dabble just a little with mankinds ability to solve the riddle of transwarp drive so we could get the h*ll off this planet and find out what's out there.......thataway Scotty!

Good enough for a start?:) -kd5-

I'd cut my losses with humans and start over. I can see him shaking his head in disappointment right now.

I would make my presence known obviously, rather than discreetly, so there'd be no doubt that I existed.

Mikal: doesn't a good bit of the bible demand just that already? :p

Read 'The Tenth Insight' by James Redfield again and ponder about what use it has to waste so much time on such an unsatisfying activity.

If I'm going to be TOTALLY honest, If I were God life would probably suck royally for my creation. All of us have an EGO that craves feeding. I believe that if any of us were God, we would to some extent end up like false pagan Gods, demanding human sacrifice constantly so people could prove how much they loved/feared me. I probably wouldn't bother with all of the rules of the Bible, the majority of which are there to protect the people themselves.

Unlike the True God, I probably wouldn't be invisible and only asking that you have faith... if any of us were God, we would probably be PLENTY visible and people would wish there were a way to be uncreated.

Actually I'd toy with my Subjects, kind of like the Judeo Christian God does now. He must be laughing his ass off at us. I would give Jerry Falwell Donkey Ears, Make GW Bush Screech like a chimpanze, place Bill Clinton in a pit with Fat Naked Interns and a huge bag of flour, make all the New Bornes in Texas Gay (instead of just half)and permanently attach all Tree Huggers to a Tree.

If you go to a mental hospital you will find a lot of people convinced they were God (in fact, this is the most common delusion). I'm sure they would have more 'godly' answers.
