That is correct. The most you can delay it is to the end of your current semester - OR - if you are a Senior - to the end of your current school year.

well since i'm already military, i already screwed myself on that one ;)
The draft would blow because some, or a lot, of people believe the whole Iraq thing is crap. So if ya got forced into it, life's going to suck. On the other hand you can always say you served your country and people have respect for that, even if you hated the piss out of it and b*tched the whole time :)

Unfortunately due to back problems I would be more of a liability and would never put anyone's life in my hands in a war situation. If I could serve in some other way I would. I have to rely on those brave and fit enough to protect my sorry a$$.

But yes, I would go. I would have to leave behind my wife and children and would be the worst thing I could do but I would do it for them. In the hopes that my sons would not have to.

well yeah, it would be sort of hard for you to get out of a draft :p

don't get me wrong, i'm no pvssy. if someone was rasing hell on american soil i would be one of the first on the way down there. In my pickup, confederate flags flying and nooses ready i would personally hang every last one of them.

but i'm not getting sent to some 3rd world country to fight for something that is unprovoked/un-necessary.

stev0 <- redneck, if you will.

Considering the fact that I joined the army in 1987 and served 4 years in the infantry as a TOW gunner... I would say I'd go to war.
