If you wear a baseball/peaked cap indoors you're a massive douchebag.

Not seeing the big deal about hats. They're easy to forget you're wearing, they're good for covering up unkempt hair, and chances are you'll be in and out of places when you're wearing it so it doesn't make that much sense to keep going on/off/on/off, especially since there's no real place to put it. To me its akin to wearing a coat indoors, there is a comfort aspect to it, and while it seems nonsensical, its not like its completely baseless.

Don't forget sunglasses.

Meh. I wear perscription sunglasses so I can't just put them on my head or pocket and don't want to bother with dragging in two pairs.

Blow me.

Totally agreed.

There is no need to wear any type of hat indoors, it just seems ridiculous. That also includes softcaps, unless it is cold inside and it's an informal setting.

Another mystery: softcaps (beanies, tuques, knitted caps of any variety) worn in the summer.
So you're a unique special little butterfly. Take off the goddamn beanie. It's 80ºF and the sun is shining. Why the hell do you have that on?

But yes, in general - take off any kind of head-covering when entering a building. It's simple etiquette, and, well... shows you are not a complete moron. There's simply no need to wear it inside, none.

What about those SWAT and military guys? I've seen them (well, on TV anyway) going into buildings AND NOT REMOVING THEIR HEAD-COVERING! You're right though, its just rude of them. If I ever encounter one I'll give them a severe ticking off.

What about the idiots who wear sunglasses at night?

"We got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses. Hit it!"

Anything that's good enough for the Blues Brothers is good enough for the rest of us.

I don't really give a shit about either, but take your sunglasses off when I'm talking to you.

Wearing sunglasses at night cuts down on the glare of the oncoming headlights.

Edit: And before some safety geek here chimes in - They're pedestrians - at night, their lives suck anyway.

I'm in the military myself. Don't try twisting my post you!

Under general working conditions, they too remove their caps while entering a building.

When undergoing any type of operation, headgear stays on.
