If you unknowingly do heroin/tobacco/meth/(insert addictive drug here)

Theoretically, of course.

Let's say you, unaware, do a hard drug. As to how you would do it unknowingly, I'm not sure, but thats not the point. Let's say you're drunk beyond belief and you don't remember anything.

Would you get addicted to the substance, even if you have no recollection of even doing it?

If I recall correctly, there are some substances that can be chemically addictive after the first time. Logically then, depending on the substance you unknowingly interacted with, you could potentially have a chemical addiction to the drug and would go through the same difficult withdrawal symptoms that any person would.

You need to make the distinction between habit-forming and addicting. Addiction is much more than habit formation and involves physical processes. Habit formation is a much more mental process, wherein I can see your question being more applicable.

What are the chances you would unknowingly do it enough times in a short enough period to become addicted? If you have the idea that you get addicted after one or two uses, grow up.

Thanks for posting in both threads, even though in the other thread the second post says it was a accidental repost b/c Firefox got messed up. Asshat.

Not typical, but possible.

Probably true but you'd have to be someone with a highly addictive personality. To be unable to deny "urges" beyond the first time trying something.

I think you have the wrong definition of addiction. Not dependance, not habit, not even passing thought. We're talking addiction.. with the withdrawls and everything. It just doesn't happen the first time, or the second, or the third. Don't believe the crap you hear, your body doesn't work that way.
