If you shave every day, is it a lot easier/better?

I always have a tough time shaving.. bleeding, pulling, pain, etc etc. I shave maybe once a week.

Does it get easier if you shave every day for months/years at a time?

Is it worth the extra effort?

I find it easier to shave if I shave every other day at least. I'll go as long as possible though. I put off shaving until the night before or morning of important meetings. My coworkers don't care if I'm scruffy and my girlfriend likes it, so why shave?

I shave once a week and I don't have any problems. I can't remember the last time I cut myself.

If I shave every day, it cuts me up pretty bad. And it seems the hairs on my neck don't get clean cut - its more of a scrape, which then hurts my skin more as they grow out.

If I shave every week, its a very rough shave. Opposite problem with my neck, but same result - I shave down first, then up - the longer hairs get caught in the blade, which cuts my neck.

So if I shave twice a week, its a happy medium, doesn't hurt as much.

The hairs in my neck grow at such an odd angle that no matter what I can't get them clean shaven and there is always some pain involved. I've tried all sorts of different razors (including electric) with no solution.

The only difference on me shaving once a day vs once a week is having to do a few extra strokes to make sure I get all of the whiskers.

Shaving is definitely much easier if done every day. There isn't as much to cut, plus your skin will get used to it so irritation isn't as bad. If you're bleeding and experience pulling, though, sounds like your blade(s) might be dull, which can hurt like a biotch :). Pulling also indicates your facial hair is too long, which is another plus for shaving sooner rather than later.

I can't get a smooth shave no matter what razor or gel I use, and it does irritate my skin. But I have bad skin anyway. I've never liked shaving, it seems like such a waste of time. I only do it like once a month now. I normally just use a beard trimmer and cut it all down to stubble.

Every other day here. Try Williams Mug Shaving Soap instead of any of the canned stuff. It is much easier on the skin.

It really depends on whether you use an electric razor or a real (mach3 or the like) razor. Electric razors, you can shave every day with no issue. Real razors, however, are a closer shave, so by the next day, it's really hard and sometimes painful to shave again, so many choose to do it every other day (I do this). There are tradeoffs to either method.

Oh, how fast and how thick your hair grows is a big factor too.

Plus, ONLY shave after you get out of the shower. If you wash your face really well with soap, the hair will be softer, and will cut easier. Hence, the three S's.....sh|t, shower, and shave. In that order only, and you'll be good to go.

I shave with the grain of the hairs. I usually get cut and ingrown hairs when shaving against them but if i shave with the grain of the hair, it has totally disappear but I dont get as close of a shave.

I use an electric razor every day. I could never stand a regular razor. 1) Going with the "grain" meant that nothing got cut. Going against it hurt like hell, as if the thing was just ripping every hair out. 2) Acne + a razor = bad news.

Never had a problem shaving. I tend to shave about twice a week, maybe longer.

I ******, shower, then shave. Shitting after showering seems counterproductive.

My new Norelco will rip the hairs out of my face if I let them grow too long, which is quite painful. Because of that, I never wait more than two days between shaves now.

Good shaver, though!

If you shave daily with a razor your face will get use to it...always try to shave after you shower and even if it burns when your shaving use hot water when your finished.
Take it from someone who actually needs to shave twice a day.
