If you saw someone driving all over the road, would you report it?

I saw a person driving late last night (around midnight) swerving in and out of the lane they were trying to drive in. It wasn't just a one moment thing, it happened for a good 2-3 minutes before I decided to call the non-emergency police line and report the car.

I followed the car and the guy driving was pulled over and arrested about 20 minutes later. I imagine he was drunk.

So would you say that reporting the guy was a good thing, or should I have just minded my own business. I feel like I did the right thing, but I want to know what you guys think.

Thats like every night in Miami. I would if they were driving near a neighborhood, but since I live a bit south of the city (read: lots of farmland) if usually means they just drop themselves in the canal. And it happens probably once every two months.

They get out fine, but not so much their car.

I've done and will continue to do so as well.
The best one was this guy who was totally out of it. He drove along all over the road, and then would pull over for a while. I stopped for a soda along the way home, and ended up behind him again. Again he pulls over, and we pass.
In the next podunk town, I found these two cops having coffee at the convenience store, pulled in there and told them about it.
They about tripped over themselves getting out of there, a couple of Barney Fifes

what the heck? why are you questioning this? yes, it was a good thing that you called. how would you have felt if you "minded" your "own business" and this guy plowed into some innocent person and killed them?

This happened to me when I had my temps, going for my license. I was out at night on a side road learning to drive at night, and was having some difficulty. Sure as shit after about 10 minutes I got pulled over and had a cop come to the window. Apparently someone called me in as a drunk driver, lol. We explained what happened and he laughed and let us go.

But yeah OP, calling was the right thing. Pics would have been icing, though.
