If you put insurance on a package does it always have a tracking number? (WHERES MY EBAY ITEM!!)

I won an ebay item (poker chips) on March 5th, I got an email late on Monday that he sent out the package and should be there in less then a week, now over a week ago its still not here (he is in Louisiana I believe and I am in Los Angeles).

I paid for insurance on the package, so does that mean he def. will have a tracking number? I emailed him, but havent gotten a response yet.

Insurance # isn't a tracking number... but when you purchase insurance, you do get a form with a special numbers on it.

Well Fedex, Airborne Express/DHL and UPS come with tracking no matter what.

USPS insurance gives you the special insurance numbers on a slip you fill out. Im' sure they can track it but it's not a tracking number.

Depends on the carrier.

which carriers do give u tracking with insurance?

UPS always provides tracking, insurance is extra. USPS charge extra for both, but buying insurance does not mean you get DC. Not sure on FedEX since I never use them, but I think they always do tracking, extra for insurance.

USPS insurance for less than $50 doesn't give you any unique numbers. It's just a green slip of paper with date/destination/postage.
