If you preordered the 4S from Sprint and got the Applecare Plan...

Did the plan come with your phone? My packing slip said it was backordered (How can it be backordered? It's basically just an activation code to register with Apple, right? But I digress...).

I've tried calling Sprint twice now to just cancel that part of the order so I can get it directly from Apple, with no luck. Spent 20 min on the first call with a girl in India who had no idea what I was talking about and tried to get me to call Apple. Second call got a guy in sales who understood what I wanted but for some reason couldn't do it and kept transferring me around. So now I've tried e-mailing them with all the details, we'll see how that turns out...

You may be able to cancel it from Sprint, but you won't be able to cancel it from Apple. AppleCare+ can be ordered only with a new phone. I have a friend who ordered his from Verizon and tried to order the AppleCare+ plan from Apple before the phone arrived. They couldn't do it.

• Pre-ordered iPhone 4 (8GB) or iPhone 4S
• Purchased an iPhone (any model) on or after October 14, 2011 (proof of purchase date may be required)

I bought it with my phone on Friday. It is auto enrolled. Just contact AppleCare to ensure its activated.
