I had to often do register, phone, and make pizzas or sandwiches. At the end of the day, $10-20 extra in their pockets from their minimum wage job makes all the difference. I was there.

Do you tip at McDonald's or Burger King? They do the exact same thing and deal with infinitely more customers than I'm sure you did.

Since, yoiu still live at home I'm guessing your mom pays and gives the tip for a loser like you.

Did I hit a nerve, pizza boy?

Actually that does make a lot of sense. If I had a kid, I'd be willing to give him $5 to go pickup the food. He can even use my ghetto car, but if he crashes it, I get my $5 back.

That's what the delivery fee covers.
Pretty much all the national chains charge for delivery now.
If the company refuses to pay to the drivers the $3-4 delivery fee I paid, that's on them.
The money for tip has already left my pocket. Whatever happens after that is between the company and the driver.

I'm not one of those who tip for the sole basis of fear of spit, shit, or HIV in food.

 Nope, just calling out a cheap ass loser and not the one that lives at home with mommy. I'm guessing the few times you go out to eat, you don't tip either.

I don't see anything wrong with living with mommy. I'm not one of those rebelious run away from home junkies who hate their parents and try to run away as far as possible. I have a good relationship with her which is why I'm still there.

In fact, I do enjoy it...Much better than pissing away money to a landlord by paying rent or buying a $300,000 5-bedroom home with only myself in it.

Generally no, but I've made some exceptions.
The last time I tipped was when I ate out at Olive Garden last year. The waiter was very nice. He went above and beyond the call of duty. If you're only "average" and below, don't expect anything from me because I consider it part of doing your job.
I ate at IHOP earlier this year where the waiter served us food and was gone...Never came back until he saw us getting up after we decided it's time to leave and ran towards us with the reciept book. Of course I didn't tip.

If they don't recieve tip from me to make up to minimum wage, the waiters are obligated to get it from their employer.
That is federal law.

You drive to a restaurant and sit down for a meal. The waiter takes your order, places it with the kitchen, brings your drinks, silverware and food to the table. This person makes $2.00/hour and deserves a tip.

Scenario #2:

That's what you guys are saying?
In a nutshell.

And I hope you arent using the $2.00 an hour salary as an argument. Thats the kind of logic that has us giving more and more free handouts to people every year and I am fucking sick of it.
The only reason I tip at all is because the economy sucks and people actually need the extra help these days. My problem is: Because of the economy I dont have much money to go out and do stuff anyway.

Then fight to apply the minimum wage laws to wait staff.

They already do.

I've worked 4 different pizza joints as a cook. Cooks don't get tips regardless if it is delivered or not.. only the driver get's the tips that are given to him. He's the one usually only making $2.00/hr.

There is no reason to tip for a pickup. If it is a dine-in or a delivery, servers and drivers don't make shit without tips.

At least that's how it is where I have worked.

Yep but the only argument for tipping these people have is that they don't make minimum wage and they do.

No. Don't tip the cashier or the bagger at the grocery store either. I might tip the bagger if I was disabled and they carried the groceries to and loaded them into the car.

Fixed that for ya.

 for the fix. Seriously, its retarded to say that a waiter gives the same service for a takeout order and for a sit-in dinner. Takeout deserves nothing.

For pizza pick up no.

On the flip side of the coin, I live around some restaurants and used to order from them frequently. For them yes, because I usually order for 3 people.

tbh, when i get take out over delivery, the whole reason for it is not wanting to pay the extra money for tip/delivery charge.

Since when? Who cares what waitstaff think, they're biased in their own favor. 15% has always been the "right" amount of tip. I always give 15% if you simply do your damn job, aka the bare minimum. If you suck, never refill my drink, or I see you standing around BS'ing with coworkers instead of asking me if I want something, you get less. If you do more, you get more.

20% is NOT the tip for "any amount of service."
