If you partition a drive into 2 drives, is it possible to remove space from one and add to the other later on?

I want to make a partition for my programs and whatnot and then another for data on my 160GB hd and I'm not sure what I will need... I figured 40 gb for programs and 120 for data, but I'm not sure and I may have to change it later but I wanted to know if that is possible?

Partition Magic is a great program, however another one that I've used and really like is BootItNG. It's great, free, and will do all the resizing and such you could ever want. Check it out.
