If you own a PS3 + Orange Box + Pelican or Other PS2/PS3 Controller Adapters + PS2 / PS1 controller....

OK to keep a long story short, I am an ex-pc gamer and finally decided on switching to the PS3 after I quit gaming on the PC for a while. Like every PC FPS gamer I want to play my FPS games with a mouse and a keyboard.

I have been successful at doing that on the PS3, in which my current favorite games either supported Keyboard and Mouse out of the box (such as Unreal Tournament 3) or I was able to use my MaxShooter adapter incorporation with a PS2 PS3 controller adapter on games such as Resistance: FoM to get my FPSing on,

However when it came to my favorite game Half-Life 2, I couldn't use my MaxShooter on it!
The reason is that the Orange Box in general in all it's games, is programmed to stop any control input to the game as long as a SIXAXIS controller is not connected in #1 position any longer! I have tried everything i could but I can't do anything. Only the Orange Box so far does this. Other games don't seem to mind my non-orthodox control scheme!

However, I have noticed that the difference between my el-cheapo PS2 USB adapter and other adapters such as the Pelican one or the logic 3 one, is that they have LED's that indicate the current position of the controller hooked to the adapter in the control scheme, and has an on-board PS-home button.

Does this indicate that these adapters make the controller hooked up to be recognized as SIXAXIS PS3 controllers? Would such adapters be able to fool the Orange Box into thinking that I have a usual PS3 gamepad?

I need someone to verify this with the Pelican adapter, or any other adapter that is available on the market so that if it does work, then I can go ahead and get me one somewhere online so that I can play the Orange Box the way it was meant to be played ;)

Thanks in Advance
