Eating out by itself is a proposition I have to think about with regards to money outlay. Most times, it's just barely worth it. Adding delivery charges puts it firmly in the red. I figure if I'm too lazy to fetch food myself, I don't deserve to have someone cook it for me.

Out of the virtual restaruants, Conviction Chicken is absolutely the most hilarious.

Hay there's 1 in my area I should try it, them not having a Trump inspired meal's a big oversight IMHO.

*EDIT* never mind, I dug deeper and found out it's TGIF, their wings are not very good.

OH HELL NO, the fake cover restraunts on Uber Eats have taken it too far. I was looking for something to order last night, I saw some Burritos from a place I'd never heard of. They looked good, so I investigated.

IT WAS DENNYS. And apparently it's not a Ghost Kitchen operating out of Denny's, but Denny's itself making Burritos and pretending to be a Mexican spot. I was super close to taking a chance and ordering before I decided to look into it. Glad I did, sheieieieieit!

I'm done with Uber Eats for the rest of the year.

Don't mind ghost kitchens. Pizza Hut setup 1 for their Wings, but they mention the association. I never consider Pizza Hut, never tried their wings, but I have plenty of Korean fried chicken options to satisfy my sticky saucy chicken needs. If you use the App enough, you'll be able to tell which are the ghosts. They'll use the same thumbnails and what not.

I'm currents on McD's binge. The local drive up is so fast it's almost like going back in time. Well, except when it isn't and you get someone apparently trying to negotiate a leveraged buyout.

Anyway, it seems even they're advertising Uber eats rather than their own app. That seemed odd.

Pizza Huts out here have had Wing Street in them for a long time now. They're good, or at least they were back when I used to get them. I don't think it's a ghost kitchen it's actually Pizza Hut.

People wonder why I spent $600 on a fancy toaster oven...a Big Mac Meal is $12.50 where I live for drive-through or $25 delivered. Places are masquerading as other places. Quality on nearly every delivery I've used has gone downhill post-COVID & the prices have SKYROCKETED. I'll stick with using my magic computer oven in the meantime lol.

I have a Breville toaster oven/air fryer. It's sitting on top of the inverter microwave. That thing is priceless as far as I'm concerned.

If you like to cook it does make sense to go higher end on gadgets/appliances. When you think about it $600 is not even that much as far as food related costs go and it's something you'll have for a very long time. That's equivalent to going to McDonald's about 20-30 times. I rarely get JUST a combo when I go to a fast food place, as the combos are so small now, so I will tend to upsize the fry, maybe add something else so looking at $20 something or even $30 depending what I get.

I keep meaning to get more into cooking but I'm honestly just lazy when it comes to that, I find it hard to justify the time and energy required to do it for one person. I still meal prep some times, just not for 100% of my meals. I recently got into the Factor meal subscription plan so I eat way less fast food now though. Comes up to around $13/meal, so while it's not cheaper than cooking it's actually way cheaper than fast food.

Yeah, the pricing economics work out well for a single person, especially because you have to buy a minimum quantity of most grocery items, so then you're stuck eating the same thing over & over again or else having to resort to meal-prepping.

I'd say that ordering out, and having food delivered, amounts to a 300% premium in cost over prepping your own meals. It's a personal choice on how to spend disposable income imo.
