If you need warranty service, do you contact the manufacturer or the warranty service place first?

I sent them an email on monday and it said it would take up to 5 bussiness days before I could get a reply back. I did get the phone numbers for some service centers (3 in total).

So, do I need to wait till I hear from JVC or do I just call one of the service centers for warranty work?

Thanks

Kas

About 5 or so years ago I used to own a warranty repair center that did repairs for GE,RCA,Sharp,Panasonic .

The way things worked then was that the consumer contacted the manufacturer, who would give them our address and a reference number. We used the reference number to get paid for our work. The consumer then shipped the product to us.

I got out of the business because of the corporate crap one has to deal with when doing repairs. Companies paying 50.00 to repair 20.00 phones. Taking 3 months to get paid for a repair. Products that are defective by design, but we are supposed to tell the consumer, its not a design problem and 'that' problem isn't really widespread at all.
