For the past year or so I have had a linksys proconnect 2 port kvm switch that did its job very well. I used it with a usb logitech mouseman using a usb/ps2 converter and under winxp the mouse and all its buttons worked flawlessly. In win98, on my laptop, the wheel and the 4th button didn't work but I could live with that. I recently purchased the 4 port linksys proconnect compact kvm since I now have 3 systems on my desk, and was suprised to find out that my mouse no longer worked in winxp or win98. The wheel would continuously register as a right or left button click and do the wrong thing and the 4th button on the logitech mouseman didn't work now. I thought I had a dud unit and went out and exchanged it only to have the exact same issues still there. I then picked up the belkin 4 port soho series kvm. I am so impressed with this piece of hardware. It has usb support and audio support as well. You can read more about it on tom's hardware guide where he reviewed the 2 port model. I picked up the 4 port model for $129 shipped from EMS computers. A great buy.
