You can get a student discount without actually having to be a student (I have). But you can only use it on one hardware and two software purchases a year, IIRC.

Then try to get a corporate discount instead. The corporate discount makes the Mini $10 cheaper, anyway, and I don't seem to have that 1 item limit on hardware.

Or get a corporate discount + edu discount (I work at a privately owned college) and get it for around $450
