So much about bad economy, but - to be honest, the hating one's job thing has been ever present regardless of the economy.

I honestly don't mind my job, I have more good days than bad. I don't drag my feet into work, I don't dread going to work and I'm generally in a pretty good mood all day and not pissed off when I leave.

Actually every other job I've had, I more or less hated. I see a lot of people here also hate their jobs.

So if you like your job - why, and how did you get there?

I love my job. Obviously, everyone has days where they don't want to be a work in general, or where things just go bad, but that is a part of life.

To get here, I got a second undergrad degree in Mechanical Engineering and worked hard to get the best grades possible. Went on a lot of interviews all over the state and chose the job that best suited my attitude and wants from a career. Salary played into the decision, but was not the deciding factor.

A friend of mine came across a job posting on craigslist that he thought I would be a good fit for and forwarded it to me. The rest is history. :)

I love going to work. I found it on their website, listed under job opportunities, kind of a shot in the dark, as I only had my Associates, but I still got the job for past experience.

i love my job, too... however, there's no room for advancement as our Org structure is as flat as milla jovovich laying on her back.

i just saw a job in Dallas(Irving) for a data conversion manager. I'm thinking about applying for that - it's closer to my family & only a few hours away from my wife's family.

I've been here in this position for almost 10 years, have a house, 2 little kids, & 2 dogs - i'm scared to think what it would take to get us to the other side of the state.

Through JobMine (UW Coop program) before the shit hit the fan. We get our jobs well in advance of the term we work them, so I got my 2009 Jan-Apr job in 2008 September/October just before things started tanking.

2008 Sept - Dec was school, 2009 Jan - Apr was at this place, 2009 May - Aug was another school term. Noticing that crap was bad and people aren't getting jobs (and aren't getting coop placements) I asked to return at the same company.

So here I am 2009 Sept - Dec working the same place again.

I love my job. I got it during a organizational shake-up when our new Japanese VP came and replaced all the current mid- and upper-level managers.

I was good at Ogame.

HomeBrewerDude saw potential for me due to that performance along with some of my posting on AT. I've been working at my current job (with HBD as my boss) for about 3 years now.

I like my job. Its fairly low stress, I work with smart people, I have my own office, its flexible....

I was employed at a pseudo-competitor (for talent, generally not for products, although my position is) and was recruited to the new one. It took some effort on their part, I liked my old job too. But here I am.
