Yea, I remember "Live at Fillmore east" was a must-have LP way back in the day, it's a shame his brother (Duane) died so young in 1971, he had already become so good Clapton asked him to quit The Allman brothers band and Join him in "Dereck and the Dominios" but Duane refused although he was a session player on the landmark "Layla and other assorted love songs", so impressed was Clapton he said in an interview after the album was finished," Clapton talked about Allman as the "musical brother I'd never had but wished I did." The band was originally named "The Allman Joy's" but had to change it due to that name belonging to Mars Inc., (makers of the Almond Joy candy bar), they could often be seen playing at the Wreck bar on main St. in Daytona before they hit it big and went on the road a lot.
