in my searches for cnc machining and firearms i found this site - www.cncguns.com

excellent site for anybody even remotely interested in the hobby of home gunsmithing and cnc machining lots of good projects on there that show the whole process from a raw block of aluminum to many different firearms parts, all modeled in solidworks and then sent out to the cnc equipment. now, since i live in a small condo, i need to find some small cnc equipment, hahaha

God, that is kick ass. Although the amount of time and skill involved with actually making one would put me off though...I'd rather go buy one, but that is pretty sweet.
