if you kill four people in canada you could be out in 3-4.

well in america if you claim influenza you can get 10 years of probation instead.

//edit

looks like that guy could have tried, but elected not to do so. so credit for manning up and taking responsibility.

Muzzo's family owns the drywall company Marel Contractors and is worth nearly $1.8 billion, according to Canadian Business magazine.

Fuerst said in her decision that the sentence must send a message to others to deter them from committing the same crime and reflect society's "abhorrence of the crime"

So three years for killing three kids and their grandfather? That's quite the message they are sending.

We need to show forgiveness.

What if we built temples of forgiveness, instead of prisons?

We can. In our hearts.

Toward drunk drivers?
IMO, the more you hold onto the pain the more suffering your going to go thru. The only way to get past the pain is thru forgiveness. To let it go.

But, this is very difficult for most people because the first thing they want is revenge. And I can understand why. The thing is even if you get the revenge you'll never be satisfied until you forgive and let go.

I'm not calling for an easy sentence. This person should be held accountable, and face the maximum sentence. 3-4 years is absolutely ridiculous.

The problem is that there are not four people in Canada that I want to kill. What kind of deal can you get for me in New Jersey?

Lives don't matter much to government, if that guy would have been smoking pot, or doing tax evasion or anything to do with money then he'd probably be getting a bigger sentence, because it would be a loss to the government. Sad the world we live in.

Canadian's are pretty harsh compared to our system. Wouldn't serve a single day for killing 4 people for the right money over here.

Four kills for potentially a bit over three years in prison minus time served -- I'm guessing it'll be minimum security since he's not that dangerous without a car and plead guilty. Not bad...

I'm more upset about the 12 year driving ban. Everyone knew he wouldn't get much jail time, but ban should be for life.
