At what speed would you have to be going in order to die instantly, assuming no seatbelt. Say a 1994 Camry, or a 2000 Nissan Quest.

Why are you asking this question?

I dunno but I almost slid into a ditch at 70mph... didn't realize that I would have died until I got home!!

I'd say an immovable object like a tree wouldn't require too much speed for death on impact... but assuming head-on... probably just under 30mph.

I had an incursion with a telephone pole going 30-35MPH in a 1987 Sundance. I hit it dead-center of my car.
If you're right, then I'm posting this from the grave.
BTW, I walked away from the accident uninjured.
I surely sit corrected then... was just a guestimate based on no real-world experience. How's 50mph sound ?

I'm willing to bet at Mach 8 or so you'd die pretty quick as the car vaporized on it's way to the tree.
