If you have the init string for your modem, where would you put it in (kppp)?

I found an init string for my modem, and it's the last thing I can think of that will help my internet connection in Linux. There are no drivers for my modem in Linux, but I read that this modem doesn't need any special drivers, so that's fine. Where would I put this string in?

"AT&F1&B1&D2&H1&I0&K1&M4S7=60"

I dunno where to put that...

I found it and I tried a couple different strings, and they didn't make any difference at all! What gives?! :|

I connect at "V.90" at 37333bps. This time I was able to go to Google.com, but not Dogpile.com... oooh. Still couldn't come here. Still couldn't access any other sites practically.

I give up...

if you connected at all, you did something right.

I have a V.90 but connect anywhere from 36-40. In talking with ViperGTS, I'm going to rebuild my phone jack. The current one is really old and doesn't work with most newer phone cords.

I'm thinkin' that's my problem.

If not, I'm looking to spend a fortune on rewiring my room with a new phone number entirely.

Cool, but I know that's not my problem, since I connect at 44000-48000bps when I'm in Winbloze, never lower. I have gotten 37333 ONLY so far in Linux, and I can't GO anywhere...
