Just wondering everyone's experience with it. A few of my friends have had it done, some of them were in pain for 5+ days, another guy was out doing yard work the next day. :Q

I am getting one scheduled in the next couple of weeks, just was wondering if they guys who had long pain did anything different from the guys with short pain.

Ya do know they do have male birtch control via a patch these days. Not sure if its totally out yet, but its passed all its trials and was approved by the FDA.

Heh.....well I was young enough when I had my circumcision that I dont remember a thing about it., you never miss what you dont have. Now we just wanna get me fixed so we can continue happy times, without fear of little kiddies.

Its a minor surgery for a guy, not a complicated major surgery like a tubal ligation is for a woman, so we( mywife :)) decided that vasectomy was best for us.

phatcow, a vesectomy just prevents sperm from being added to the "happy fluid". Because sperm is only like 1% or less of that fluid, it's technically still there.

Yeah, but why not just pay a few bucks (insurance will cover it) and get it done permanently?

I guess its ok if u can bear the pain (not a lot) and since its reversable and fast its koo. My teacher said once she was doing some yardwork and saw her neibor mowing the lawn and he was walkin like a penguin, she asked why and he said he just got his Vasectomy done that day...so i guess its bearable and u can play it off.

I'm not quite sure I would equate getting a vasectomy from a qualified Urologist to taking a chainsaw to your penis.

Besides, getting a sharp object near my genitals is not going to be a new experience for me.

Getting a vasectomy is merely getting a short about 1/2" incision on your scrotum, and getting a couple of tubes cut and tied off, no big deal.

Ironically, I've heard that after having a vasectomy the first orgasm afterwords is the best of all time.

Mine still hurts sometimes (not much though) and it's been about 1.5 years. But I'm sure it hurts a lot less than making 18+ years of child supoort payments. Under our current legal system it's about the only way to save yourself from entrapment.

The only thing I remember was that the amount of fluid that came out was absolutely phenomenal. Probably 50 times the normal amount and it shot real far too.

Cutting into testicle...

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

::coughs::

OK, now that the initial shock is over. I've never heard its reversable, but if so then I guess that's cool. I can understand where your coming from with not wanting anymore kids. Just curious though...why not just have her take the pill?

The pain on the first day was not too bad as long as I stayed relatively still and took my medication. the second day wasn't that bad at all except for the ice bag constantly on your crotch (you get used to it) and on the third, I was back to work, walking slowly, but I was working again. There were no stitches so you had to take it real easy at least for the first day or so. The fun part was after a week (maybe shorter, can't quite remember) my doctor instructed me to have sex to completion (you know what I mean, I don't want to get your thread locked) at least 15 times in 1 week to get rid of any residual live sperm, at that point you have to go and give a sample to confirm that the operation was a success.. My wife did not go...she was tired...:D

the pill has a lot of negative side effects, and one might forget to take it!

Doesn't happen. they cut the Vas Deference(sp?), the vein that leads from the testicle to the urethra that releases the sperm into the semen as a person climaxes. The sac is cut but it was done with a pair of special scissors that punctured and created a small slit at the same time (in my case anyway). And as with most surgery, major or minor, you're doped up a bit (doc gave me two valiums)and local anestesia is applied as well. The pain is small and the rewards are great if you don't want to risk impregnating a woman.

Yeah I actually agree with this. After my fiance and I have kids we'll have to decide what our best course of action is. Until then, birth control is the only way to go.

Ok...a little to much information there...I can understand your reason for doing it, and who knows, I may sometime down the line as well...but the thought of it...::gasps::

I had one done 2 yrs ago but you don't want to hear about how quick and painless mine was. You want to hear more about the guys who's nuts swoll up like grapefruit ..right? That's the questions I wanted answered. Well me it took 30 mins in/out. One small 1/4" incision in the middle ...snip/cauterize....next!. No shaving, drugs or anything. Apparently it's the latest procedure unlike the older ones where you were cut open an inch on each side. The worst part is the fear beforehand ..and the local....ouch!
