If YOU have/had a personal doomsday clock

Meaning the ultimate worst case scenario?

Well, I live in the DC suburbs, currently attending the University of Delaware. So if DC got hit by an ICBM, my home would be effectively destroyed. Then add everyone on my campus turning into a zombie, and you've just about got it.

No I am talking about a personal doomsday clock. Say if you are having a really bad day the clock could lose a minute or two. Losing enough minutes reaching midnight = snap!

So what would happen if I snapped? Having come close to that point twice now (I had anger issues due to years of severe depression (or vice versa) last year, almost lost conscious control of my anger on 2 occasions. Issue's cleared up now) I'd probably just start committing random acts of destruction. Smashing random objects, throwing things, etc. Hurting people would be a definite possibility, but I doubt I'd be coherent enough to focus on any one target for long, so few if any casualties.

I'd probably end up collapsing from mental stress.

Edit: On the clock scale, I'm the better part of an hour away from midnight, so no worries. :)

I'd get arrested if I posted what I would do.

I'm pretty sure I'd be one of those batshit insane people.

Never really have bad days here. If I were to have such a clock it would be at least 30 minutes to midnight. :)

I'm totally not prepared! This summer I want to take a gun safety course and buy at least one firearm, maybe a shotgun, rifle, and handgun. I also would need to stockpile food and water. I live in California, so I can just consider it preparation for the big earthquake, whenever it comes.

Edit: Looks like I missed the point of the thread. :p

I simply have never gotten stressed to the point of snapping, Falling Down style. Not sure if I ever will, as when I'm faced with a crisis, I go into "crisis mode" and manage the situation without emotion.

If I'd "snap"? I'd imagine that suicide would be the final "solution" as a way out. I wouldn't lash out at anyone, unless I lose all sanity. Then all bets are off. Then it'd depend on what kind of crazy I'd turn into, which would dictate what kind of antisocial behavior I'd engage in. A quick gun-based killing spree, or a slow, methodical Ted Kaczynski style? Insanity can open up all kinds of options. Who knows, maybe I'd just become a basket weaver and twiddle my thumbs and toes. HAHA!!!

In any case, I certainly hope to never have to find out, and should I see a direct course being plotted toward doomsday's midnight, I'd see what could be done with respect to navigation, and find a new course.:)

So for an individual, "catastrophic destruction" would be suicide. Another way of stating the op then would be "what would drive you to suicide?".

Loved that movie.

Just found a reason that I would off myself. If I had to live with the conditions presented in the tv show "The Office". The only question is how long it would take to fall down - a week, month, year, ten years?
