so if you can goto Program Files...Common Files...Adaptec Shared...Creator API

and tell me if you have these same files and if they are the samesize...

try this go safe mode and uninstall easy cd creator 5.0 and reinstall it and it may solve your problem

nope neither of those things worked

it worked b4 and i havent used it for like 2 weeks and now it doesnt work

Try this utility...it fixes your "aspi" layer software:

"Aspi_me"

The Aspi layer is frequently a problem with cdr burning software. This will make sure all your aspi files are installed correctly to version 4.58. Before running the utility, though, you have to temporarily set your pc's date back to sometime in 1998. The software installation program was timed out after jan 1, 1999. Once installed, go ahead and reset your pc's date. Try EZ CD Creator again. If it works fine, cool. But if you want the absolute latest Aspi files (although 4.58 works just fine), you can download and install 4.60 from Adaptec at:

Aspi32.exe from Adaptec

Note: You're probably asking, "why not just install 4.60 now vs. 4.58?" Good question, and your answer is is that if Adaptec's Aspi32.exe installer detects a faulty current install of Aspi layer software, it won't install correctly. So, do the Aspi_me thing first as outlined above, then see how it works (don't forget to set the pc clock back to 1998 beforehand and back to present afterwards and a reboot) and if all is fine, then go ahead and get version 4.60.
