So, I had my first Integrative Biology lecture today. The instructor for the course walked to the podium and began to speak. His first few words were fine, but then the third: six-six-six-six-six-six-SIX (very high-pitched)-ty. He did this about every two or three words. A 25 minute lecture took fifty.
Edit: Before anyone rants, I'm not makng fun of him. I'm not poking at his disability. I'm simply questioning his career choice.
Yeah, I'm not getting used to this.
Then, to add insult to injury, they announced that for the second half of the semester, a new lecturer would teach the course. I was thankful. He stepped up and began to introduce himself. He had a VERY pronounced asian accent. When he spoke rapidly, he was completely unintelligible.
It's going to be a long semester.
Edit2: School at UIUC, and before this, I relied on a voice recorder to help study for tests.
