I have posted this in the motherboard forum also because it has to to with both video and motherboard.

I've come across a couple people now that are having the same problem as me: Windows programs hang while scrolling. The video drivers are definitely at issue because the problem goes away when I use Standard PCI VGA Adapter (ugh). However, the common thread is that the problem appears when an MX card is on an 8KTA+ or 8KTA2 motherboard.

If you have this combination what drivers are you using? I've tried Asus 5.30, Nvidia 6.31 and 6.49. Any suggestions to fix this problem would be appreciated. (Yes, I've installed latest 4-in-1 drivers and the 4.04 Agp driver).

Hi! You will kiss me for this ;-)
I'd the same problem, and I've found the REAL problem.
It's not a driver issue, it's a BIOS issue.
Flash the 10/11/00 bios and MAGIcally your problems will fly away

Hey Nauete, I think you've done it!

Flashed to 11/10/00 bios and haven't had a lock-up yet. I'm keeping my fingers crossed but I've already gone much longer than I could have before without a lock-up.

Oh, and about the kiss... uhh,....no.:D

Thanks again. What a great forum this is.

I have had this exact same problem. I have an Epox 8kta2 with a Tbird 900 and a GeForce 2 GTS running in win98 se.

I flashed my BIOS to the 12/01/00 version, and it helped some, but I still get that crash on occasion. Also, I noticed while games and most program work fine, I get a screen distortion and lockup when I try to run Bryce 4 usually.

It could be ELSA's own problem. I tried ELSA MX in a celeron/intel chipset mb system, same problem occurs as in Epox 8KTA2 system.

ELSA's tech support sucks, I emailed them about the problem in Epox 8KTA2, they said I need good 300W PS (that should be only applied to old Geforce), install via driver (I've already done that before), pointed me to geforcefaq.com (I've already been there before), gave me unaccessible link to their web site's knowledge base. I replied them nothing helps, and I haven't received any response back yet.
