If you had your finger cut off, can it be re-attached? Would it function fully as before?

I remember one of the 5th grade teachers at a school had hers cut off through a paper cutter...

She got it reattached... and it was fine..

Depends on how clean the cut is, where it's cut, and how long before the reattachment. Clean cuts and swift reattachments give good chances. Ragged cuts and long delays lower the chances. If the cut is near a knuckle you're almost guaranteed loss of some function.

I had an inch of mine cut off when I was around 4-5... they put it back and it works fine. It is a little "different" looking but thats about it. (No one notices unless I say something.)
