I read that you have to, but you should be able to run it in bridged mode, which basically turns it just into a modem, so you should be able to connect your linksys router to that and use its functions instead.

first off satelite sucks compared to the other two options, it is expensive, the ping is horrible and you pretty much are stuck at 1.5mbps. Cable is good but fios is way faster and pretty darn cheap too
