which would it be? What online site do you prefer for reading about upcoming previews and game reviews for pc??


 
GameSpot, but before buying I'll usually wait for the print review in Computer Gaming World. CGW makes their reviewers actually play the game, not just work through the reviewer's guide supplied by the game company.
 
I can't list a single site, as I go to different sites depending on what genre the game is from.
Certain sites do better jobs with specific genres.

Overall I'd say GameSpot is the best IMHO, but there are other sites I visit for certain genres.
Why limit yourself to one site, I've never found any single site to be of high quality reviews for every single type of game.
 
Gamespot.com for sure. The yearly fee is a great deal when I think of the the great reviews, previews, patches for almost anything out there for the last 5 years or so . And also the demo downloads. And downloads speeds...fast? They also offer great walkthroughs
 
I tend to find myself agreeing with most of the points made and overall ratings in Gamespot reviews also. Hardly ever do obvious personal hang-ups find their way into their reviews.
 
I use Gamezone but that's partially because of the links it has to other gaming reviews.

I used to use Gamespot but it's just not worth paying for it, especially since it doesn't link to other places like Gamezone does.
 
For reviews, I prefer GameRankings.com because it's scores are an aggregate of MANY review sites, which helps smooth out the inconsistancies like IGN being too generous and Gamespot being virulently anti-Xbox and pro-PS2.

Of course, whenever I read a post from someone saying that Halo is the greatest game ever, I roll my eyes so hard I nearly get whiplash.
