That's also what I'd do. Without me around to act as a buffer to my wife and her psychotic family the kids would be seriously screwed. Though I'd wait until the end of my 6 months so I don't have to go to jail.

I'd seriously grab my 13 year old son and hop in my VW Bus and cruise the country. My daughter is 1. She wouldn't benefit from the trip. But my son needs me and would be destroyed if I was gone. So that would be an attempt at providing peace to him.

I honestly couldn't care less about the rest of the family. Just my kids. Everybody else could fall off the face of the Earth and I wouldn't be upset.
 
Sadly, if you have 6 months to live, your body is probably not going to physically be able to handle the activities listed above.
