Surely you mean the actual wallpaper... The desktop wallpaper looks like a keeper.

Who spends money on desktop wallpaper? Do you? Of course the real wallpaper. :D

Where do you find 4960x1600 (?) wallpaper anyway?

Great minds.... I was thinking "All that glass and no a$$ to drive it." While the X2 3800 is nice, dual Opties would have been finer. But it is a year old, so forgiveness is given ;)

Hey Penth, if you up the hardware, keep the monitors and go with a dual dual Xeon 1333fsb. Then, your AT peni will drag on the floor. Well maybe after you change the wallpaper :p

I have serious monitor envy...

I'm trying to ease off the constant upgrades, but I will get a G80 in about 2 months at the end of my eVGA Step-Up time. Then next year I'll upgrade to kentsfield (when the non-extreme version drops.) My 3800+ is at 2.4GHz, and I just couldn't see the cost justification in getting new ram, motherboard and cpu for an incremental increase in speed. (I know core 2 is lots faster and would no doubt be my choice if I was building now, but probably not worth the costs for my needs.) Especially considering the vast majority of my time is spent in windows doing programming, not in games fraggin' it up. I also don't do as many encoding tasks as I did in the past.

That'll be my setup to last for a real long time.

And I agree about the wallpaper, but what I want has nothing to do with what happens there.

Also, about the 6600GT... I did have two of them running in SLI in the past when I used to game on a just a 19" crt and they did just fine. But I didn't see much point in getting rid of both of them when I still need something to drive the third display.

We have awful wallpaper too. No biggie. With that setup, you need to edit ;)

Nice :)

edit: I wouldn't spend more than about 2,000 on a comp as it's a waste I stick with the 1,500-2,000 Range and it seems to fit me fine and I don't regret it ever. I also don't have 3 monitors, ups, and speakers.

What's the best display setup you've seen? Not to say I have the very best setup possible, but before I started picking up the pieces for this I thought about what would be the best.

I figured a 3007FPW is the best primary monitor you can have. I wanted to keep my vertical resolution the same all the way across. I had mis-matched monitors in the past and it wasn't nearly as good. So the only choices I was left with was 2 2007FPs in portrait or 2 more 3007WFPs which would have been overkill and kind of expensive.

Ultramon's display gallery has a setup with 8 x 19" or 20" panels that is pretty sweet, but for a single user actually using the displays and not just monitoring a bunch of stuff, I think this display setup takes the cake.

There are some pretty cool setups on that HF thread though. I'll probably post mine there.

Best setup I have seen! Props to you. Lots of money to spend on a setup though. None of those setups @ hardforum even compare! I have a nice 2 monitor setup, but nothing like a 30".
