If you had $100 to spend on a non-wireless router, which would you suggest?

I haven't bought a router in almost 2 years, just wondering what ya'll would suggest for a 4 port or so router for about $100.

Trying to get a decent quality one for my friends network

I did a search, but all i came up with were buying suggestions for wireless routers

Thanks

umm... I wouldn't. You can get a decent SMC/Linksys/Dlink 2 port router for like 30-40 bucks now. Check out the hot deals section for details.

Where the heck are you looking at? Just go to the linksys, netgear, or dlink web pages and you'll find plenty of options. Or, go to buy.com or amazon.com or any number of other places and search for router. If you want reviews, go to pcmag.com or practicallynetworked.com. If anything, you'll have a hard time finding a non-wireless router that costs that much, unless maybe you want and need all sorts of bells and whistles or are looking for high end business equipment.

There can be bad luck and a person can end up with a bad unit regardless of Brand.

Otherwise, there is no good Router or Bad Router, and for sure there is NO the "Best".

There is the most inexpensive Router (usually $20 -$50) that meets your needs.

Now the ball is back in your court, you have to define your needs.

Example: This Router can put 10 computers on the DMZ, and it is only $19 after rebate.

Barricade 7004 4 Port 10/100 Router.

If a person is looking for a General Work Horse this will be my choice for Early May.
