If you get something shipped by FedEX economy delivery (3-7 business days) and the item is 4 hours away.....

will they hold the item to make the minimum delivery time? That would really suck if they did that.

I ordered a cellular phone from Amazon.com yesterday and it shipped from Addison, Tx. I'm in College Station, a scant 4 and a half hours away. The item shipped today, but it's still in Addison. Do you think I'll be getting it tomorrow?

I would say that they will not deliver it any faster than the third day. that is probably because they dont want people using ground instead of two day delivery.
I havent had anything take longer than 3 days to get there when using their ground service, although my experience is limited to a few shipments.
So far it is the best deal in shipping out there. I shipped a 30lb pc for 6 bucks, and it got there in 3 days.
