I got an email last week from a company that is looking for an electronics tech for field service in the medical equiptment deopartment.
I read the requirements and there were.
1 year exp ( I have four and a half)
Basic computer skills (I am intermeadiate at least)
and hopefully some feild service and it would be nice if was working with med equiptment.
oh yeah and an AA.
Well I went to school in the US NAVY and because I didn't have an AA I was totally disqualified.
The first email was very intered in you you have an abundanbce of experence and we are very intered in you ...
BTW do you have an AA?
Now I don;t have an AA and if I did have an AA you had better believe it wuold bne oin my resume.
I do have 4 1/2 + years as a tech in the medical equiptemnt department as a field service tech, I have 4 years prior to that in the nacvy and as a contractor for the navy.
I polietly emaileed the HR lady back that no I did not have an AA but I do have the military equivent. I got an Email today that I did not qualify for the job do to lack of education.
Now I have a job (that I probly would not have left) BUT it made me really mad. I have beed an electronics tech for over EIGHT YEARS I have worked with doctors for alomost five of that.
Yet they would rather have one year of electronics experence and a degree.
Listen here kiddies that peice of paper is damn important go get it.
