If you found $3000 in CASH in a brown bag, would you keep it?

Let's say you own a fish restaruant, right. and you went out to get some merchandise for your store. so you go to boston where you can buy good fresh fish and other seafood right. you bring enough money for some stuff, but when you get there the prices has shot up. so you couldn't get all the things you wanted. so you are bummed out and walk back towards your car. you kick something because you are bummed. you know like a rock or a can or something. but this time it happens to be a brown paper bag, wet and all dirty. so you kicked it. you noticed that there is something in it. and you think to yourself "can this be money" so you pick it up and run to your car and drive off somewhere secluded from others. than you open it up when no one is watching. you see wad of hundreds and fifty. you count it up and it was $3000 on the dot.

What would you do? Remember, $3000 in $50 and $100 bills. You're already home, no one knows about it. There are no owners to return to.

I wouldn't live myself if I stole the money from a visible owner. In real world, locating the real owner of $3000 in brown bag is impossible. The 'right thing' to do by returning it to police is hardly right either. They'll keep it for themselves or fund some department.

At this point it boils down to this: Police or you? You found it, you keep it.

That's my moral mechanism at this piont. I actually think if you 'return' it to police, it's quite foolish, despite your kind intentions.
 
first thing i would do is buy one of those counterfit markers and test to see if they were fake

if they were fake, i'd sell each bill for 20 bucks at the local high-school
 
No way. I would not be able to live with myself if I kept it. I'd put out an ad saying an undisclosed amount of money was found, and return it to the person who could describe it.

i dont know what i would do... so i will not vote.

but i would like to think i would consider who would have lost is and what I would want to happen if it were me who lost it.
