Typically, I hit the gym 4 days per week. I worked out last Monday like I usually do.

5.5Km in about 30 minutes on the treadmil. Then my 100 situps and 40 or so legraises. Gotta take care of the Body By Budweiser you know. ;)

Anyway, work was hell last week; left late every night (Tues-Fri), then I went away for the weekend.

Hit the gym after work today. At just 2Km, I wasn't breathing hard, but I was feeling a tick on my right side. At about 2.75Kms, I got this "stitch" in my right side...my gawd, it felt like a hot knife. I pushed hard and got to 3.5Kms and had to shut down.

I did get my situps and leglifts in though.

Moral of the Story: Don't make excuses to not get your fat ass to the gym! Just b/c I worked 12 hour days, I should've at least ran a bit.

ps
In the past 5 months I've lost 21 pounds (9.5 kilos) and two inches off my waist. Currently 6'1", 209 pounds for anyone who's interested to know. :) 200 is where I want to be, but that would require diet and/or more exercise. I currently eat only one portion of every meal, but I eat whatever I want. :D

Good for you  I feel the same way. I can't stand people who make excuses for themselves or people that blame their physical appearance on genetics.

Well, good for you anyway!!!

I highly endorse a break every so often. It allows so many things to happen that you don't even realize.......(joint recovery, mental disposition, etc.).

You may or may not suffer a "comeback" relapse, but regardless, I still endorse a break every now and then.

When it comes to lifting, sometimes a week off can work wonders, both mentally and physically.

Agreed, some even say that you should take a full week off from training every 12 weeks.

Yeah, I have read that also. Personally I just listen to my body. If 12 weeks have passed and my motivation is high and I feel fine, I'll keep going.
