On the contrary, most people ignore Fox News and it works fine for them.

It's all fun and games is it?
That's not what the 2020 election showed us. Or 2016.
Lies have consequences when people believe them.
Propaganda has consequences.

You don't have to watch it for it to be harmful to you.
Ignoring Fox News did not help the people in a Buffalo supermarket.
When others are willing to drive 200 miles to find the "correct" people to shoot.
Broadcast journalism racism has consequences and it needs to face consequences.

Republican base. And you wonder why GOP politicians are afraid to call out racism

Nixon got the ball rolling for turning the Repub party racist and Trump gave their contingent of racists and supremacists a platform and a stamp of approval to scream at the world how they've been victimized, ignored and suppressed by "the establishment" for spreading their brand of hate and fear against the nation's people of color. Trump signaled to them that they're fine people and it's perfectly OK for them to crawl out from those dungeons they were once seething in. And now that they're out and about again, they've managed to pass judgement on all of those other Repubs therein, branding any and all who reject their racist ideology as traitors that need to be chastised and ridiculed into conformity.

The party's racists have in effect made their beliefs an integral part of the party's platform with nary a peep of resistance from their membership. It really is rather sad that the party in general has had to embrace and promote their racists in order to win elections.

Actually, in truth, Truman began the racist Democrat defection to the Repubs. with his desegregation of the military. It accelerated from there.....Goldwater's Repub nomination for Pres helped to accelerate the removal/marginalization of the progressive Repubs. from the party; the Civil Rights Act helped cap off the racist Dem conversion to Repubs....

By the time Nixon got into the Presidency, it was already fait accomplis

Agreed. I stand corrected. In effect then, Nixon's Southern Strategy was an successful extension of the party's long term efforts to woo the South's Democrat conservatives over to the Repub party.

Strom Thurmond's history is an excellent time capsule of how the southern Democrats broke from the national party in the 50s over civil rights and formed the "States Rights Democrats" or "Dixiecrats", and then, in the mid 60s, were wooed by the new Republican party.

Except I don't visit their site (except in this case of the link in the topic), nor any other crappy sites then try to spread the crap with others.

Ever see a homeless guy on the street corner that's wacko and always talks to himself or his imaginary friend? Everyone ignores him and the same applies on the internet, unless you're into seeking reasons to spread hate.

The big lie is finding a group of people who think like you, and declaring your group better than any other, as an excuse to discriminate. You'd think we would be past that in this day and age, that the groupthink mentality for losers would be gone and we'd have risen to a more evolved state of individual responsibility, and individual identity instead.

Yes, too much discrimination against racist pieces of shit is what’s holding back human society. Not the racist pieces of shit.

^ Sadly you still don't get it. You are using excuses to hate, the same as the racists do. You are very much like them.

Very, very much. The idea you choose to fixate on, to cause hate, doesn't change the end result of spreading it. It all comes back.

You should instead pity those that you consider disadvantaged and put your time towards that if you are sincere, not one moment spent towards spreading hate. Nothing constructive comes of it.

Rise above it. Quit wasting your time whining and do something constructive.

You don't want my truth but how has yours been working out so far?

It's time to accept reality. Agitating and sending a signal to youth that they are screwed, is harmful, while helping them succeed instead, gets the job done.

mindless1, spot on user name

I've educated you previously on the origin of my username after your previous ridiculous failures at post rebuttals where you had no valid argument and just sunk to trolling instead.

Stupid don't learn.

Ignoring Fox News did not help the people in a Buffalo supermarket.

That's a far stretched amount of nonsense. What is far more likely to have happened there, is all those whining about injustice, irritated the Average Pathetic White Male Loser. It was, as I've already mentioned, about spreading hate that irritates and agitates people whether black, white, or any other particular *color*

Yes, we already have laws about killing people and any shooter should face them. That is not an excuse to spread hate. If you don't like a news channel, turn the channel to something else. It's really that simple, every day I turn the channel to something else.

It comes back to what I've been saying all along. Individual responsibility. NO!!!!!! Nothing on TV is responsible for any wrong act that you, or anyone else does. That's ALL on you.

So like BryceIdiot, you have no defense. Okay then.

lol, I can see now, that I'm going to get the trolls all riled up, and as I've already mentioned, there is no point in spreading hate instead of doing something constructive, so... while some losers out there are going to be frothing to attack, and wasting their time doing so, instead... get ready for it... I'm going to spend my time constructively instead.

The time you spend to post, is about ego. The time I save, I help people. Look through my posts, just on AT, nevermind the dozens of other forums. Ponder that. You can be useful or a sack of (blip) in this world.

Wait! What is there for him to defend when you are the one talking bullshit?

Let's put it in a different light, and use something other than racism. Let's use crime. What you are telling us, is crime isn't the problem, but people who call out the crime, and those that talk about the crime are the problem. And since they talk about such crime, they are distilling hate...

That is what you are saying about racism, or rather those that talk about racism. That is some fucked up backwards inbred thinking. Yet, you think people should have a defense for your bullshit. Repeat: that is some fucked up backwards inbred thinking.

Short answer: you think people should ignore it, not talk about it, so it doesn't exist, and if they do talk about it, it creates hate. You sir are an idiot!

So was there a prior shift, in which black Americans moved away from the party of the "emancipator", Lincoln, and towards the Democrats, as the party of the working class?

The US party system is baffling to me. They seem like just franchise names, that don't represent anything at their core. But I suppose the Republicans were the party of Northern industrialists, like the Liberals here? And the Democrats began as the party of Southern land-owners (like the Whigs?). Or did the Democrats always have the Northern white working class on side?

Then they both mutated slightly because of the nature of racial politics, as the working class became more black, as black people migrated North, with the Southern Strategy completing the re-alignment?

I swear I remember reading somewhere that the ballad of Stagger Lee goes back to a bar fight that happened in an era where younger black people were shifting towards the Democrats.

I think this was it...

I know about the Southern Strategy - what I was curious about was the history before that, as that seems like just the final step in a long process. That first article is interesting in that respect. This bit seems the key point

...the Republicans remain, throughout, the party of bigger businesses; it's just that in the earlier era bigger businesses want bigger government and in the later era they don't."

Classic victim blaming. Someone shot a bunch of black people and explicitly says it was because of white replacement theory, something Fox has been pushing hard lately? Must be because Democrats are so divisive. Fuck all the way off with your bullshit.

Fox News Site Troll Posters are delighted that you were upset enough to make this topic.

Stop spreading hate. It does not matter if you are right. It's still spreading hate and making the world a worse place.

ah yes. they won because some liberals read their pure hate that they actually are, and publicized it.

Oh wait, no, they were trolling. Fox online comments are only ever trolling people! Yes, that's it! I'm not the racist one! The liberals are! hjahahaha I win again!

Did he just say that racial injustice protesting was a hate movement that caused white people to do more hate related crimes?

Wow!

So again, it’s not the perpetrators that’s the problem it’s the victims? A++ for that level of stupidity.

No, just not spending much time on an abrasive idiotic asshole. Somehow you've created a formula in your head where name calling, insults, and wasted time posting is a moral good when you do it, and bad when others take part in any of it. Pretty impressive!

Except for reality. Show me a single time I started a topic where the expectation, the inevitable outcome was spreading hate.

If you don't even realize how much a troll bait topic this was, then you don't seem to have learned much about the internet.

Yes, it is a moral good when I state something like stop spreading hate (and instead spend your time uplifting those you consider *victims*). Are you so bipolar that you don't get that?

When did hate ever solve anything? It Does Not Matter What The Excuse Is.

I am abrasive if I dare to disagree but calling me an "idiot asshole" is still within bounds in this context? Okay wallflower. Maybe find someone who melts when you state that?

Your lizard brain can't keep up with reality. We are not tribes of pre-human creatures that depend on group assaults to survive. Do whatever it takes to get some humanity back into your life.
