If you dont have Widescreen or HD is it worth getting 360?

I have a 36inch trinitron flatscreen and 5.1 surround sound but I dont have widescreen or hd. Is it worth it to get the 360 which that setup?
 
Yeah, why not? Gameplay always over graphics. Well provided game designers don't invest all their time on eye candy and with gameplay of Superman 64.

Yeah, exactly. It won't look the best but it will still kick the crap out of regular Xbox games in terms of appearance. You can still play the same games.

Between you and me (and several thousand people on Anandtech), I'd say that a 36" Sony Trinitron (even on the Svideo you might be forced to use) should look about as good as many people who own cheap HDTV's, like 20-26" LCD TV's.

Plus you've got 5.1 surround, which many people with HDTV's don't have, and all Xbox360 games are supposed to have 5.1 surround support out of the box, meaning you'll have a much better aural experience as well.
 
Its all about viewing distance. It will be just fine provided you are seated at a proper distance, probably somewhere between 7' and 9' would likely be optimal I guess.
