Inspired by this thread, in summary, the story is that about 39% of 18-24 yrs old persons would quit their job if access to Facebook and Myspace were blocked at their work. I just want to know how many idiots are out there from the age group described (18-24) that are on this forum that DO have a job that would quit their jobs if access to said sites were blocked.

If I am unhappy at work then I will quit my job once I find another one. If I am working and hating my job even though I excel at it, and my last shred of enjoyment only comes from being able to do a little surfing then I will quit if that is taken away. The point is that the vast majority of people who are productive employees are not going to quit over something like this unless the job already sucks ass. In those cases, denying the ability to surf the web is not the real problem.

I'm 25, and have both a Myspace and Facebook account. I would not quit my job if access to those two sites was blocked.

Having said that, to those people that would quit their job, GOOD FOR YOU. It's just a job and you should be happy where you work. If you can quit over something as trivial as Facebook/Myspace access, consider yourself fortunate. So many people are trapped at a job they hate, and actually live their lives to work.

Myspace is blocked at my work, my IT guy was just too lazy to block all the ways to get into it. I wouldn't quit my job over not having access though. Myspace doesn't pay my rent, my job does!

I never really used either of those websites. If my work blocked some of the websites that I do visit I work, I wouldn't quit. My job is overall good, and that would represent a trivial matter in the grand scheme of things. Health Insurance, shitty raises, bad corporate culture, crappy bosses...those are reasons to quit. (After you've found another job)

MS and facebook are blocked at my work. So are a lot of better sites. AT is not blocked, which is why I come here instead. Much more effective too, i might add.
