I've been cutting my own hair for a while now, and the rusty pair of thinning scissors I have has begun to pull too many hairs per cut.:(

Considering this is a Once in a lifetime purchase: not easily lost/stolen/broken

Same Brand:

Would you buy a $50 pair of "thinning shears?"

Made in Germany

http://www.amazon.com/Fromm-Ahead-Co...1134987&sr=8-2

How about the $30 pair, same brand

Made in Taiwan

http://www.amazon.com/Fromm-Ahead-Rh...5&sr=8-1-spell

Part of the reason I'm looking to spend more than 6 dollars is the 11.99 dollar pair I ordered off amazon, made in Pakistan, has a cooling fracture in the middle of the blade. :(:(

EDIT: At least Decent

You can't possible have a decent haircut. Let's see some pics.

I wouldn't say fantastic,, but AT LEAST decent

White stuff is dried condensation, I SWEAR. :hmm:

haha, phone in my face makes me think of lady gaga..

To be honest... I don't think most people who cut their own hair own $50 scissors. Usually they do it because they're really cheap...

Yes, but considering the 1000s i've saved already, is it a worthwhile investment?

Also since I will be doing this for the rest of my life,, would it be possible that another Cheap pair would rust up on me? 11.99 can add up to 50 pretty fast.

1000s? How fucking often do you cut your hair? Every day? Jesus...

Well considering the fact that I CAN cut my hair as often as I want to, I do a little touch up every 2-3 days.. no more than 3 mins in these micro sessions NOT the best comparison but...

Its like when you get a vacuum cleaner and it makes it easier to clean, and you start cleaning more often.. Do you get it?? :\

also 52weeks / 2weeks * 15bux = $390 ,, 3 years that's over 1000,, I've been doing it for 5

Good scissors will be more likely to rust. They'll have a higher carbon content, will be sharper, and stay sharper for a longer period of time. Like any good tool, you have to take proper care of it.

A haircut every 2 weeks is kinda ridiculous... Mine gets cut once a month at max. Usually closer to 2 or 3 though...
