Full legalization of all drugs, termination of DEA funding, and review of non-violent drug cases/convictions for amnesty.

A bill requiring 7/8th's approval of both the house and the senate before our military can be used overseas.

Why not add a tripling of the military budget and a doubling of middle class taxes while you're at it? Or, hell, why not just eliminate the middle class all together? There should only be lords and serfs, right?

It's not the governments responsibility to create or dissolve the middle class. Just get rid of these socialist bills.

We already have lords and serfs. It's the elderly and everyone else.

I like the sound of that.

Some kind of legally backed IQ requirement for the position of Commander in Chief would be nice too - this country can't afford another idiotic, frat boy burn-out in the White House.
An 'anti-crony' bill would be nice too.

AMy bill would be simple. Every second Tuesday of each month. All Senaters and Reps stand on the front steps of Congress. Then the people form lines and takes turns slapping them with fish.

HuH? I can't believe this is coming from a conservative. Those programs are the lifeblood of the GOP.

Rather than a bill...I feel more and more dissolving MOST of the government is what is needed~

But if I had to, probably a bill that would bring acountability to the political profession. After a politician's term ends, he or she is immediately jailed and put to trial. They will have to account for ALL their actions and dealings in their term. If they had any wrongful actions, they go to jail for a few years as determined by a random jury. If they could account for all their actions when they were governer (I'm not talking about private life, I could care less what he does in his personal life, I'm talking about their political actions and life~~unless it is stuff such as "taking a vacation at a 90% discount from a company" and maybe a year later that same company gets some kind of "sweetheart deal" [if i may use a recently coined phrase ;)] ) they would be released and allowed to live life. They could run again, or do whatever they feel.

Doing it that way, would immediately weed out all the bastards who are politicians to primarily further their OWN interests (Though no doubt any career you want to further you own intersts...but in this case it is more of a situation where you use the government in an abusive manner to further yourself at the expensive of the people). The only people who woiuld want to be a politician under that circumstance are those with a real desire to be a public servant.

This actually wans't my idea, but a friends...and yeah it takes the "politicians are guilty before innocent" position....but I think its the best way for a organization that can be easily abused...and everyone knows that politicians are crooks anyways ;)

...Wow? How does cancelling 2 crappy programs relate to military spending or middle class taxes?

Oh, and on topic, a bill illegalizing the democratic party :p

So far this is my favorite one so far i think, its simple yet good. But i think a two-thirds majority would be better.

The Monetary Reform Act

To restore confidence in and governmental control over money and credit, to stabilize the money supply and price level, to establish full reserve banking, to prohibit fractional reserve banking, to retire the national debt, to repeal conflicting Acts, to withdraw from international banks, to restore political accountability for monetary policy, and to remove the causes of economic depressions, without additional taxation, inflation or deflation, and for other purposes.1

Dodds Act of Reason

1. Legalize drugs--period. Anything classified as a drug, anyone can get, though insurance may be allowed to pick up on prescriptions.

2. ALL FUTURE BILLS MUST BE READ BEFORE VOTERS. Every member of congress there to vote on a bill must have heard its entirety read to them.

3. Buy back the Federal Reserve.

4. Reduce the legal power of corporations, and increase the scope of anti-trust laws.

5. Repeal copyright laws since around the 40s. Forever-minus-a-day copyright needs to go, that we may have some crap in the public domain, and real incentive for new works.

6. Get rid of the IRS, and implement pretty much any sane tax system.

7. 200% average national salary salary cap for public officials, but with most expenses paid (yes, they will get the best of the best, because they can, but I bet it would still be a bargain).

None will happen, though.

Another one... no deficit spending. Any plan that would require deficit spending would require a 7/8ths majority in the house and senate and include a plan to pay back the debt within 2 years.

no future bill may be longer than 40 pages and all members of congress must demonstrate a working knowledge of what the bills do. any member of congress who cannot read and understand a 40 page bill within 7 days of recieving it will require a 80% approval vote. this will be 80% of REGISTERED votors, not actual votors.

these 1000 page mega-bills that get rumber stamped have to go

Replace the current tax code with a flat tax or an inclusive sales tax.

End riders and ammendments to congresional bills. Each bill must be one topic only and written in plain english. If a randomly selected panel of Joe Sixpacks from an Iowa trailer park can't figure it out in 15 minutes it's too complicated and needs to be rewritten.
